Abstract This introduction presents the symposium on Sam Knafo and Benno Teschke’s article in Historical Materialism , ‘Political Marxism Rules of Reproduction Capitalism: A Historicist Critique’ (2021). It briefly summarises foundations Political Marxism, discusses broader implications debate raised by Teschke for questions collective knowledge-production methods Marxist historiography, outlines seven contributions symposium. The concludes tracing, through evolution debates its protagonists, some lineages historiography as well history this journal.
